TIME dotCom (TIME), listed on the Stock Exchange of Malaysia since 2001, is a fixed line telecommunications provider . That connects businesses and homes by harnessing the talents of the most capable people and the latest available technologies.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, TIME offers a full suite of domestic and international connectivity, and data centre solutions to the Wholesale, Enterprise and Retail markets.

We also deliver pure fibre home broadband services at speeds of up to 1Gbps to consumers in Malaysia – the country’s fastest

  • Internet Speed

When you sign up for TIME broadband the fibre line is usually laid by a contractor and pulled directly to where you want your access unit to be placed. The most important part of the installation is that you ensure the technician tests the line performance for you.

Today’s average wireless broadband router comes equipped with Gigabit LAN ports, which means it will be able to handle Gigabit speeds (1GBPS). Over WiFi, that’s a different story and WiFi speed capability depends on two things are the strength of your transmitting point and the strength of your receiving point.

  • Fantastic For Torrenting / P2P

Perhaps it’s because of their hyper-fast speeds or even that they haven’t hinted at any sort of bandwidth capping at all. I’m particularly fond of the torrenting potential offered by TIME. Exactly how fast your downloads get are of course tied into the plan you sign up for.

This is pretty good considering all the factors that come in to play when calculating torrent speed. However, I do have to mention one thing here. For time users, 500Mbps is likely the highest TIME plan you’ll need to go for if you’re looking to download over WiFi.

  • Skills of TIME installer

My one experience with a TIME contractor though, was great. He came alone and was on time for his appointment. He worked quickly and was done with the cable laying in less than 20 minutes

Once done, he setup all the equipment and did a line speed test for me .The most impressive part of everything was how neat a job he did with the cables . They were laid hugging the wall in neat, straight lines, unlike the job done by the TM contractor which basically draped the wires all over the place.

  • Free Equipment

If you sign up for their 500Mbps or 1Gbps plan you get a Huawei HG8145X6 whereas if you go for the 100Mbps plan then you get a Huawei HG8145X5 .

Unless you are dead set on squeezing that 500Mbps line or 1Gbps lien for all it’s worth, the default equipment will work just fine and is quite reliable. Upgrading your home network will require you to shell out quite a bit of money though.

  • Voice Capabilities

For those who are afraid to change to IEM broadband thinking that they will end up paying for two separate phone lines, don’t worry. If you sign up with TIME, the packages come with voice capabilities so you can dump your old TM phone line.

There are a few voice call plans available but if you’re anything like me then you may decide to forget all about them and rely on your mobile. Rates start from pay-as-you-use, but you can also opt for monthly plans that come with free minutes.

The package rates are reasonable though and top out at RM10/month with 330 call minutes free

  • Easy To Use Self-Help Portal

As with all good services nowadays, TIME broadband provides a simple self-help portal for its customers. Here you can get a summary of your service as well as monitor your bills and connection status. Useful portion of it is that you can configure how you want to set up your voice line, such as call forwarding and such.

Personally, for me the most convenient thing about the self-care portal is that you can view your billing history and raise support tickets directly via your account.
